And then there were two. It's hard to believe we are already at the NBA Finals. Yet we are, and honestly, it could be one of the best in recent memory due to the epic rise of the Wemby Spurs and New York Knicks. Both of these teams are similarly matched and do things very well. The last time the Knicks made the finals was 1999, the year this author was born, and I quietly remember the Spurs getting revenge on the LeBron Heat back in 2014 to win a title (those were good times).

Why the Spurs will win

I mean, it starts with Wemby, a generational talent who is just in his third season already on the biggest stage. No one expected the Spurs to take a massive leap like this, yet the talent is undeniable. They have a collection of guards in Dearon, Dylan, and Stephon. They have a veteran presence in Harrison Barnes and Mason Plumlee. The Spurs have a mix of offense and big men rotation. This team, in its first playoff run, already proved they are ready, and beating OKC on its home turf is all you need to know.

Why the Knicks will win

The New York Knicks have the best roster assembled to get it done finally. They have a folk hero in Jalen Brunson, Karl Anthony, and Mikael Bridges. They have studs like Josh Hart, OG, and michell robinson to name a few. In the East, this team proves itself, yet the competition wasn't there; they manhandled Atlanta, swept the 76ers, and may have ended Cleveland Cavaliers basketball as we know it in a sweep. They will face their toughest team to date, and because they are rested, they have an advantage.

Final takeaway

I have no idea who is going to win this series, yet it has the makings of one where if Wemby Spurs win this could be the start of a dynasty that we talk about for years to come. If the Knicks win, it will be iconic because they haven't won a title this century, and orange-blue skies are really that. With that being said, I am flipping a coin toss here and taking the Knicks in seven games.
