In doing our end-of-season reviews. The Atlanta Hawks' sudden rise over the last two years has been fascinating to watch. It all started with getting the number one overall pick back in 2024. Then, the dream 2025 offseason when they robbed the New Orleans Pelicans of their first-round pick. Flip Tre Young and Kristaps Porzingis for Jonathan Kuminga and CJ McCollum. While the Hawks came up short in six games against the New York Knicks. I have three questions to see where the Hawks go from here.

  1. Are they going to bring back CJ McCollum and Jonathan Kuminga?

Two of the Hawks' acquisitions are going to be free agents. CJ is a free agent, and Kuminga has a player option. It would be wise for them to bring back two really good players. They have 36 million in cap space to spend on the roster.

  1. Will they keep their draft picks?

Atlanta has two picks upcoming they quietly control their destination. If they end up selecting in the top four draft, they can add another high-end prospect to an already impressive roster. If I were Atlanta, I would use those picks to improve the roster.

  1. Future outlook?

It's going to be more ascending for them. They have an easy offseason ahead with Jalen Johnson and NAW. For years, the Hawks were just Trae Young's team with a middling path. They were literally buddies with the Chicago for the East play-in of going nowhere. Now the Hawks are certified playoff contenders with an offseason to get better. I am predicting them to be in the top five of the East next season with a chance to make major noise.
