The Washington Wizards have long been one of the NBA irrelevant franchises. For years this team have been more known for being a vacation day for the league. I wrote about the Wizards who have for their JV like mentality such as giving up 83 points to Bam Adebayo in an actual NBA game. So what do the Wizards get for being straight up bad? They hit the lottery during the NBA annual draft of figuring out which team gets the top picks. As a Sacramento Kings fan it was tough to watch us be Kangz lite and only end up with the seventh pick. Then here come here the Washington Wizards out of all teams getting the top pick in typical NBA fashion

The Wizards are exactly why the NBA need to get rid of the draft lottery. Sure they was the first team in recent memory who had the worst record to get the number one overall pick. Maybe it's the NBA finally rewarding one of it's mediocre franchise with a chance to be great. The NBA draft lottery is simply a mess and maybe if they follow the NFL model would be better. Because no matter how many anti tanking rules the league implement what's stopping the usual contenders from doing it. For a Washington Wizards team that should have been fined like hell for giving up 83 points to Bam Adebayo actually benefit from it.

As for the Wizards they are actually trying to be a NBA team. This past season they traded for Anthony Davis and Trae Young that's two big names. Yet proceed with caution since the Wizards got them for nothing. There's some young talent on the roster that showed promise when they wanted to. Now with a chance to add a difference maker that can change their reality. I guess there's going to be expectations going forward . Yet are the Wizards about to go from zero to one hundred real quick will depend on the day.

The success next season will depend on their JV head coach Brian Keefe. I am not sure why he is still employed at this point after not showing much. He has overseen two historically bad seasons and probably should have been dismissed after this season. Now Brian Keefe will actually get to be a NBA head coach this season and he's likely on hot seat if things go south which wouldn't be surprising.

For the Wizards this offseason will be the most important one in franchise history. With a historic draft and having the first pick this franchise now the chance to change it's dumpster fire status. Next season with Anthony Davis,Tre Young and their top pick to an already young core could be more competitive. So will the Wizards be playoff bound or be a forever non-factor next season?
