In doing our end-of-season reviews. The Los Angeles Lakers are always have high expectations because they are one of the greatest franchises. This season was all about the Lakers newest star Luka Doncic he is the face while Lebron for the first time in his career was a second option. The Lakers actually had a good season despite being flawed yet the team showed promise. The Lakers didn't have Luka in the postseason yet they were able to upset a KD-less Rockets and got swept by the OKC Thunder. Now I have three questions for the Lakers enter a very important offseason.
Will Lebron stay or he will go?
That's the biggest question we all want to know. Lebron at this point in his career has nothing to really prove he is the second greatest player in NBA history. The question is will he continue to playing he will be the second option on the Lakers if he returns. Also since he is a free agent he might he return to Cleveland for a huge homecoming. I don't see him going out like that after being swept by OKC yet where he will suit up next season is anyone guess
Can they keep Austin Reaves and what will do they with the roster?
The Lakers other big free agent is Austin Reaves and they likely will bring him back. The team definetly needs to add another big man and maybe another point guard. They have to make decisions on Rui and Luke Kennard so it's likely going to be a offseason of figuring how to get more a solid supporting cast for Luka just like they did in Dallas when they made it to the finals.
Future outlook for next season?
The Lakers offseason will be define by Lebron depending on what happened will decide everything. I am not sure what Lebron will do yet for the Lakers it's all about Luka anyway getting a better roster around him needs to be priority especially in a deep Western Conference. Regardless of the decision I am seeing the Luka-Led Lakers being a factor in the West likely similar to this year iteration and imagine if he can stay healthy for a postseason run.
