The Las Vegas Raiders are one of the most iconic franchises in football. The ability to win football games has been a major issue for this once-proud franchise. Over the last ten years, this team has made the playoffs twice, which is embarrassing. The dumpster fire franchise is entering one of the most important offseasons in recent memory, and if they fail to hit all on the cylinders, it will set them back for years to come. Here is the guideline to the Raiders' relevance in the league again.

Give Klint Kubiak time to deliver

Stop me if you heard this before, the Raiders have a new head coach as in many years. The problem with the Raiders is that the team is not given head coaches time to build a winning program in the tough AFC West. From Josh McDaniels to fan favorite Antonio Pierce to even hiring Pete Carroll, these men have something in common: they lasted one and a half seasons. Hiring Klint Kubiak should be exciting. Fresh off winning the Super Bowl, he should bring new energy. Kubiak will need time to develop a culture inside the building, get players to buy into his vision, and obviously, win games. Year 1 should not be about playoffs for the team; it's about building an identity. The Raiders front office needs to be patient and not move into different direction quickly.

Move on from Maxx Crosby

Maxx Crosby is a Raider's legend and the face of the franchise. He may not be interested in yet another head coaching change, and getting value right now is easily recommended. There's plenty of desperate contending teams looking for an all-pro veteran to help with defense. Trading Maxx for draft picks is like penny on dollars for the Raiders, who can use that to jumpstart their rebuild.

Building a supporting cast for Fernando Mendonza

The Raiders lead the league in cap space, and they should be spending plenty of it to upgrade their mediocre roster. The team needs offensive line help and playmakers. Defensively, let it be an overhaul, go out and get some veteran players, as bad teams do spend a whole lot on defensive linemen. It's like going shopping for the Raiders here, addressing some of those holes with veteran retreads you hear.

Draft Fernando Mendoza

The 2026 offseason is all about building around the team's future star, Fernando Mendoza. This is an easy decision for them get your franchise quarterback with the number one overall pick, no pressure, right? Of course, the last time the Raiders selected number one, they took JaMarcus Russell; it didn't work out literally. Raiders Nation understands your new quarterback is probably the most talented you likely had under center in franchise history.

Sometimes the football universe rewards bad teams, and the Raiders are exactly that. This is a dream offseason for the franchise to get off the losing streak and move on up. All the Raiders have to do is fix their roster, select Fernando, and let your new head coach do his job. Just maybe in a few years it will be Raider's dominance in the AFC West or 1970's VHS tapes for nostalgia.
