Doing the end-of-season reviews for teams. The 2025-2026 Miami Heat can officially begin vacation. After losing in the play-in to the Charlotte Hornets, in what I predicted was going to be a close game. Look, coming into the season, expectations weren't high for the Heat yet because of the culture, and having Erik Spoelstra on the sidelines helped. As we all know, the season for Miami will always be Bam Adebayo 83 point game, which is still wow. So, as the Heat enter the offseason, I have three questions to see where the team is going.
Will they finally trade for a star this offseason?
That's the million-dollar question that the front office has to make. I mean, the Heat have been solid with a middle-class roster for the last few seasons. If I know the Heat culture, it's always about meeting a high standard of reaching the finals, not chasing play-in titles. Yet it's been a while since they traded for a star, and it might be time to do so. Names like Giannis and Kawhi will be on the watch this offseason. There is also Ja Morant, and the need for a point guard. If the Heat want to be relevant again, they need to get Bam a co-star that can help run South Beach.
Do they bring back Norman Powell?
An underrated pick up from the offseason, Norman showed out in South Beach literally. He was a first-time all-star, and that means a big contract comes next since he is an upcoming free agent. As we know, the Heat have some salary cap issues, and honestly, they should run it back. He will have suitors, and the Heat will have to back up the money truck to keep him.
Future outcast for next season?
It all depends on the offseason, as I mentioned. The Heat have to decide if they are okay with just being a middle-of-the-road team or if they will finally add a star to help them. Bringing back Norman Powell would be cool, and now it all comes down to the front office. If they don't make a big splash, they will be in play-in bound once more, and if they land a big fish, they could also be finals bound next season.
